AFTERCARE ADVICE

We want you to have the best results possible but that is going to require your help. Aftercare is very important and results will reflect how well you take care of your brows during your healing phase and for the months to follow.  Aftercare instructions will be provided to you at your appointment.  Each individual requires a customised healing method based on their skin type.

AVOID THE FOLLOWING FOR 7-14 DAYS AFTER PROCEDURE:

  • Swimming or immersing in water; this will flush the pigment out, resulting in less pigment retention.

  • Sauna, hot bath/shower or jacuzzi.

  • Exercise/sweating, which will cause the ink to be pushed out or blur.

  • Sun Exposure: Sun-bathing; natural or tanning beds.

  • Picking, peeling or scratching scabs, which can result in scarring and loss of pigment.

  • Lotion, soap or makeup around your brow area/forehead.

  • Sleeping face down or on side, which can result in rubbing pigment off.

  • Lasers, Chemical Peels, Retinol/Vit A products or Glycolic Acid (must always be avoided on brow area).

POST PROCEDURE TIPS:

  • Try to not get the tattooed area wet.  Keep a towel close by to gently pat if it does.

  • In the shower lean your head far back and cover your brows with your hand when rinsing your hair.

  • Wash bottom of face in sink and top of face near brows with a washcloth.

  • Drinking alcohol and especially smoking may lead to slow healing of wounds.

  • After completely healed, apply sunscreen. Sun exposure will make the pigment fade faster.

  • Avoid any salty, oily, spicy, hot and citrus food for the first few days.

  • Drink everything through a straw if possible for one week following the procedure.

  • On the day of your appointment, wipe your lips each hour with a cotton round to absorb any fluids and then apply ointment right after.

  • Do not touch your lips with dirty fingers!

  • Apply the given ointment multiple times a day for at least 10 days after the procedure with either a clean finger or Q-tips provided and pat it in and do not rub.

  • Do not whiten teeth while your lips are healing (at least 2 weeks)

  • Do not go into direct sunlight or tanning beds for 4 weeks as this can alter the colour of the pigment on your lips.
